The wood that we use is plantation loblolly pine that is grown on our property. We harvest all of our on timber.

Our drying process

Immediately after carving we move the carvings to a dry room which consists of dehumidifiers , heaters and fans. Where they sit for a week to 10 days  before we ship.

Checks and kerf cuts

          (Checking  does occur )

We use whole green timber in making our roughouts and in the process of drying there will be some cracks. Some carvers ask for a kerf cut in the back of the carving ( a controlled crack) we can do this for a fee.
